About rubber and process oils
Process oils are used in rubber compounding, tyre extender oil, printing inks and similar industrial uses. They are made from base oils in paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic types.
Low-PAH types are made for EU tyre use. EU REACH sets a limit of 1 mg/kg for benzo[a]pyrene and 10 mg/kg for the sum of eight listed PAHs, tested by EN 16143.
